WORLD’S Best Peanut Butter Cookies

Awhile back I shared what really is the WORLD’S Best Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe (yes, you’re welcome!). And today, I give you another great recipe – this time for the WORLD’S Best Peanut Butter Cookies. I know, I’m so generous! 

Now, let me provide some context and reasoning behind my big claim for this being the WORLD’S best peanut butter cookie recipe.

  1. My absolute favorite food ever is peanut butter. And this love is genetic – it was my grandfather’s and it’s my fathers too. My love is so strong that often times I don’t allow myself to have a jar in my house as I know I’ll eat it with a spoon in a day.
  2. Given that peanut butter is my favorite food, I’ve had a lot of peanut butter infused foods. So, this means lots of peanut butter cookies.
  3. My claim that this is the best peanut butter cookie recipe has been validated by a group of eight people who had no reason to confirm its cookie delicoiusness.
  4. The recipe came to me after I begged and begged my friend, Deva Dawson, to share it with me. And, in doing so she shared that its a recipe that she’s been perfecting on for years.

One last thing, its important to note that the goal of these cookies is to get maximum peanut butter punch with a really smooth texture and not too much sweetness.

    Without further ado, here you go: 

    1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
    1 jar of JIF extra chunky peanut butter
    1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
    1 large egg
    1 cup plus 2 tbsp. flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    0.5 tsp salt

    Beat together butter, peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add the remaining ingredients until the dough forms. 

    Put the dough in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes (overnight is ideal). 

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 

    Form golf-sized balls of dough and roll in brown sugar, place on cookie sheet. Flatten in a cross-hatch pattern with a fork. 

    Bake on middle rack inthe oven for 10-12 minutes. 

    Cool on a cookie sheet until they firm up, transfer to a cooking rack.

      • Good point! Sorry – I didn’t realize that I failed to specify how many ounces! You’ll want to use a full 18 oz. jar of Jif extra crunchy peanut butter (or a little over 2 cups). Hope that helps!
