Yesterday I undertook one of those nagging homeowner projects and finally painted the guest bedroom! Gone is the nasty mint-green, in its place is a fabulous Nimbus Gray (aka a steel blue)!
Thanks to some helpful tips from followers of the DoAAC Facebook page, I tackled the paint-job successfully and with confidence! So much so, I’m contemplating taking on a bigger project next weekend: painting the living room.
Here’s the tips I gathered online and from the FB followers and below is evidence of my successful painting job. Onward to the next project!
- Prep is 90% of the job. Tape off everything you don’t want painted. Clean all surfaces well.
- Invest in the proper tools. Get (or borrow in my case) good brushes, several drop-cloths, and invest in good paint (I went with Benjamin Moore paint-and-primer).
- Get in the zone. Turn on some music and relax… don’t rush, enjoy the painting process.
