DIY: How To Make Your Duvet Stay Put!

I love to sleep. I think that it’s easily one of my favorite things. In fact, my mom used to tell me that I was like a baby bird because I can make the best sleeping “nests” – ah, I’m wishing I was cuddled up in my bed right now.
But, what disrupts my coziness is when my duvet seeps down to the bottom of the bed and all I’m left with is a sheet – no comfy blanket. It’s just the worst!
In my latest easy DIY project I’ve solved this problem by sewing strips of old fabric to the corners of my duvet, allowing me to secure the blanket in place and avoid the duvet from moving around.
It was so simple to do and has definitely made a difference in keeping me warm and cozy all night long – so much so that it’s making it harder for me to get out of bed every morning when that dang alarm goes off!
Give it a try, here’s how I did mine
  1. Turn duvet cover inside out.
  2. Cut four 1×8′ strips (I used some old fabric).
  3. Use your sewing machine or a needle and thread, and sew the strips to corners of your duvet cover.
  4. Take the corners of your duvet and using the strips, secure the two in place with a knot.
  5. Flip your duvet cover and duvet right-side-out.
  6. Ta-da! Enjoy the comfort of having cozy bedding that won’t slip or slide out of place!
