Think Pandora, only better. On Pandora you can enter a certain song, artist or genre you like and the system generates a playlist of music it thinks you’ll like based upon your entry. On Spotify, you create your own playlists – any music you want in any playlist! Want a playlist with some reggae, hip-hop and classic rock?Spotify says okay.
The day-to-day grind of work can really get my spirits down. Especially lately since work has evolved around grant writing, lots and lots of grant writing. When my juices aren’t flowing and I catch myself staring at a blank document with a flashing cursor for way to long, work becomes especially laborious.
Thankfully there’s a great new music player out there to help lift my spirits at work and restore life to my creative juices – it’s called Spotify, and it is amazing.
Bonus! Spotify enables you to link to your iTunes library so the music and playlists you already have can also be listened too. And, it’s socially friendly – as in, you can follow your friends and listen to what they’re listening to too.
Best part – it’s free! Well, it’s free if you don’t mind listening to some random commercial (which I don’t).
Today it’s been my lifesaver as I work under the gun to wrap up one of the many grant appeals my organizations is submitting. Thanks Spotify!
