I feel like I’m cheating.
Well, cheating on my love for running because I’ve found indoor spinning and it’s amazing.
A few months ago my brother introduced me to FlyWheel, an indoor cycling studio, and it’s been a severe addiction ever sense. Where as I used to have a love affair with the treadmill, logging in 35 miles a week, now I’m lucky if I get in 10 miles as I find myself taking up to at least four FlyWheel classes a week :: even sneaking off at lunch to squeeze in a session. Eeek!
Try it. You’ll love it! The adrenaline, the music, the push, the inspiring instructors. And, for those who are ultra competitive (i.e. me!) FlyWheel even allows you to compete with others in the class via the “Torq Board” where your speed and power appear above the instructor. Wow. Love. Or if you want to measure your own progress in secret, FlyWheel lets you do that too as you can monitor your performance in each class online. Incredible.
And, perhaps all this indoor spinning is actually helping my running. I did a 10K race last weekend and clocked in a 44 minute run :: that’s 7 minute miles!
Seriously, Flywheel. Give it a go. Tell ’em DoaAC sent you!
Remember :: What doesn’t challenge you, doesn’t change you. Never coast!
