DIY: Ribbon Wands

Here’s an easy, festive and fun craft that just about anyone can make to liven up a party :: ribbon wands!

For our wedding, I made a bunch of these so that each guest could wave them as we left the church after the ceremony. It was a great alternative to rice, bubbles or flower petals. Bonus, guests even took them home and repurposed them for other uses :: see the photo below for proof!!

To make a ribbon wand you really only need three items: ribbon (color(s) of your choice), paper straw and a pair of scissors!

  • Step One: Using your scissors, cut 3 stands of ribbon about 10-12 inches long.
  • Step Two: Tie the ribbons in a slip knot to the end of the paper straw.
  • Step Three: Wave, wave, wave your wand with glee!
